  • Science Week

    Sun 20 Jun 2021

Science Week took place at the end of Term 5 and we used all our wonderful learning to produce fantastic hall displays. The children enjoyed taking part in science experiments themed around colour.

During this week we incorporated science across the curriculum and linked themes from other topics. This exciting week broadened the children's scientific view of, and respect for the world around them, whilst promoting a love for enquiry and a desire for exploring new things.

  • Black History Month

    Sat 19 Jun 2021

We looked at some of Kehinde Wiley's work as part of Black History Month. We took his famous portrait of former US President, Barack Obama, and created self-portraits in that style. We made printing plates from styrofoam to print ornate backgrounds to our portraits and then used oil pastels to enhance our photographs.

We celebrated Black History Month by learning about the incredible work of Martin Luther King. We produced a combined piece of art work using shading techniques.
