Science
This week we are going to begin our new science topic of ‘Animals, including humans’. This term we are going to focus on identifying that animals, including humans, need the right types and amount of nutrition, and that they cannot make their own food; they get nutrition from what they eat.
This week we are going to be looking at why humans need to eat certain food and begin to look at what humans might need to eat to stay healthy.
Have a think about why people need to eat food. Have a watch of the video on the webpage below.
What might happen if you don’t eat the right foods or if you eat too much of the food. You could write down your answer, draw a picture or even act out your ideas.
Have a look at the video on the link below to find out even more about the seven different nutrients that we need.
Can you find food with each of the nutrients in your house? (Check with a grown up that they are happy for you to look through the cupboard/ fridge/ freezer before you start.)
