VE Day

We have almost reached the end of our World War 2 topic! However, I would like you to learn about the end of the war and the celebrations that took place.

Read through the slides in the powerpoint and possibly do some more research about the end of the war. Then, imagine that you are Winston Churchill. Write a Victory speech to be broadcast to the British public. Think about the hardship people have endured and the bravery of all British citizens. You may wish to include aspects of all your learning on WW2:

  • Evacuation
  • Rationing
  • Dig for Victory campaign
  • Women workers in the factories and in the fields
  • The bravery of the fighter pilots in the Battle of Britain
  • The bravery of the soldiers who fought during D-Day.
  • The many sacrifices that have been made over the years.

You may wish to listen to some of Winston Churchill's speeches for inspiration!

Please send your speeches to the office and I will post them on the gallery!
