Micro-habitats (2 weeks)

We have almost completed all of our Year 2 Science learning for the year - well done Yellow Class!  We have one thing left and that is to learn about a minibeast microhabitat

Can you:

  • describe the conditions in a micro-habitat such as under log, on a stony path, under some bushes or beneath a tree
  • find out how the habitat affects the number and types of plants and animals that live there

So, your task is to find two microhabitats - maybe in your garden or outside of your home.  You will try to be scientists by finding the answer to this question: Do all minibeasts like living in the same habitat?

You have a PPT and some activities attached below.  I think that you will love being scientists by observing, recording data, answering questions and identifying minibeasts.
