Letters & Sounds

Miss F's Phonics Group:

Today we are going to learn the new sound ng. This is another digraph: two letters that make one sound. The words that we will be looking at today have ng as the final sound. Watch this video to recap the sounds we have covered so far as well as learning all about our new sound ng

Below is a PowerPoint game for you to play. It has all the Phase 3 sounds in it so you can go straight to the ng page and have a go at reading all of the ng words. If you would like a challenge, you can start at the first slide and work your way through until you get to ng.

Mrs Haylor's Phonics Group:

Let's revise the new graphemes that we learnt last week: ay, ou, ie and ea. Watch this video to remind yourself of these sounds.

Reading Comprehension

Choose a reading comprehension to complete. Read the postcards carefully, sound talking any challenging words.

Mrs Willis' Phonics Group:

Today, we are learning to explore alternative pronunciation of the ou grapheme. Watch today's video to find out more:

Practice:

Play Acorn Adventures (select the ou grapheme).
