I have added a challenge on 'My maths' today (Tuesday 7th July). I am sorry I haven't set you any for a while! I have heard how much you enjoy it and will make sure I set one next week too.

Mrs Ansell :)

Activity 1

Today we are going to look at number bonds to 100.

Do you know what number bonds are?

Do you know any number bonds to 100?

Here's one to help:  20 + 80 = 100

Look at the picture above. Eddie has 10 different shaped stamps on the table.

How many different shaped stamps has he used on the chart?

How many hasn't he used?

We could put that in a number sentence like this:

3 + 7 = 10

Now have a look and see how many squares on the chart have been stamped altogether.

And, how many squares do not have a stamp in them yet.

Let's put that in a number sentence:

30 + 70 = 100

Can you see how the first answer shows a number bond to 10

3 + 7 = 10

and the second answer shows a number bond to 100.

30 + 70 = 100

This picture might help to explain it if you aren't sure.

Today, I'd like you to see if you can write all the numbers bonds to 10.

Here's the start of mine:

When you have done that, I'd like you have a go at writing number bonds to 100.

Remember how similar they are.

Here's the start of mine:

Activity 2

Yesterday we had a go at writing bonds to 10 and then bonds to 100.

Use your understanding to have a go at these, with help from someone at home.

It is hard to see, but the 3rd and 4th row are two different types of stamps!

How did you do?

Here's my answers to check your learning. I hope you can see it clearly enough!

Activity 3

You have done lots of wonderful learning about numbers to 100. We have ordered numbers to 100, compared numbers to 100 and learnt Bonds to 100.

Today I have prepared a worksheet for you to practise all of your new skills, before we move on to a new unit tomorrow.

Activity 4

Today we are staring a new unit of work; TIME.

Can you think of any other ways we can measure time? Think about how you would time a race, or tell the time.

Today we are going to focus on before  and  after.

Look at the picture above.

What does Maya do before school?

What does Maya do after school?

Today, your task is to draw pictures to answer my questions.

What do you do after you brush your teeth in the morning?

What do you do before you put your school shoes on?

What happens at school before break time?

What happens after you get home after school?

What do you do before you go to bed at night?

Activity 5

Today we are learning to use a calendar.

Have a look at this calendar and see if you can answer my questions.

What month is Aisha's birthday?

What day of the week is Aisha's birthday?

What date is Aisha's birthday?

What day does Aisha visit the dentist?

Have a go at the calendar activities.
