There's a hole in my builder's bucket

Oh no, there’s a hole in the bucket which the builders were carrying water in to mix cement!  Which is the best material to fix it?

• Can you use a real bucket (with a hole) and test different plugs?  What might you use?  How could  you measure which is the best material to stop the water from falling out?
• Could you measure the amount of water which goes in and then measure how much passes through the hole?

 

You could use:

blu-tac, clay, wax, straw, plastic, play-dough.....
