Letters & Sounds

Miss F's Phonics Group:

Today we are going to learn to read the tricky words was and my. Let's sing this tricky words song first and see if we can spot these words.

Now it's time to make a car park out of some paper. Can you write the words my and was in each car park space like I've done below in the photo? You can always ask your grown-up to help you. Now see if you can find some toy cars/trains/animals or whatever you can find. See if you can play a game where they have to park in different spaces. Remember to read the words each time they park a space. Have fun!

Mrs Haylor's Phonics Group:

Today we are learning about the new grapheme oy. Watch today's video to learn more:

Today's Activity:

Have a go at these Word Chains. On a piece of paper write the words toy, coin and boy across the top, like the image below. You have to change one letter in the words at the top of the chain to make a new word. How long can you make the chains?

Challenge Task:

Can you sort the real from the nonsense words?

Mrs Willis' Phonics Group:

Today, we are going to practice the following tricky words:

many, laughed, because, different, any, eyes, friends, once, please

Complete the following handwriting sheet, taking extra care to join your letters accurately. Once you have finished, can you test your spelling and write the words again without referring to your sheet?
