Good Morning
Hello Year 1,
We hope you are all well.
In a year when we are all so proud of our NHS workers, this week we are going to learn about Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) and what she did for the nursing profession, in celebration of her 200th birthday. We will learn about Florence’s young life and how she grew up wanting to change things. Later she went to the Crimean war to nurse the soldiers and pressured the government of the time to improve the hospital in Scutari, Turkey. She became known as the lady with the lamp.
Next week we will be learning about the nurse Mary Seacole.
There's lots of activities to do this week, but please don't worry if you can't do them all.
Lots of love, Mrs Ansell and Mrs Clinch xx
