Letters and Sounds
Phase 6
This week, we will learn about adding the suffixes _er and _est to words. Do you know what a suffix is?
A suffix is a letter or group of letters that goes on the end of a word and changes the word's meaning.
For example, high + est = highest or high + er = higher.
We could say:
That mountain is so high. Is the Shanghai Tower higher than The Shard? Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world.
