Fundraising and The Friends of Ethelbert Road

Ethelbert Road is committed to raising funds to improve the experiences of our children. With the support from 'The Friends of Ethelbert Road' we are able to raise funds and purchase equipment, enrichment activities, or 'little extras' for the children.

Fundraising Aims

In 2021 - 2023 we had raised enough money to purchase 35 new laptops and 30 new IPads to enhance our ICT lessons, brought blind for our school hall, had amazing markings laid on our playground for the children to enjoy at playtime, resourced a wonderful music trolley to enhance our music lessons, purchased Christmas, Easter and Summer treats for the children, supported enrichment activities, provided Year Books and medals for our Year 6 leavers, gave our children a gift in order to remember the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and purchased play equipment for the playground.

In 2023 - 2026 we are aiming to:

  • Purchase outdoor benches, potted small trees and large play equipment for outside
  • Purchase fixed canopies for outside
  • Continue to provide Christmas, Easter and Summer treats for the children
  • Support enrichment activities and events
  • Continue to provide a Leavers Book and Medals to our Year 6 children

Your School Lottery

We are excited to announce that we have signed up to Your School Lottery and our page is now LIVE!

Your School Lottery creates and runs lotteries for schools across the UK to raise money through local communities to improve educational facilities and the school environment for thousands of pupils.

Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 per week with 40p going back to our school, 36p towards the prize fund and 24p in admin fees. There is a guaranteed cash winner for our school every week and the chance to win a £25,000 jackpot.

The draw takes place every Saturday, and winners will be notified by email. Match all 6 numbers to win the JACKPOT!

It's a fantastic way to bring Parents, Carers, Teachers and the wider community together, in partnership with our school, and at the same time give something back. We hope to raise funds that can support and enrich the education of our children - we aim to provide extra resources for the children, improve the school environment as well as run extracurricular activities such as music, art and sport.

Your support is greatly appreciated and we wish you good luck!

You may remember in 2021 when our Dad's walked 100 miles to raise money for the school playground. Now in 2023 it is the Mum's turn to raise money for our playground markings.

The Mum's have taken on the challenge to climb Mount Snowden! These brave Mum's navigated icy conditions and at times, very narrow ledges to get to the top.

Congratulations and thank you for raising £700 for our playground markings.

100 Miles for Ethelbert Road

Four Ethelbert Road Dads walked 100 miles over 3 days in July across London to raise money for our school.

They began at the Thames Barrier, walked along the River Thames and ended in Reading completing an average of 9 hours per day!

Our Dads raised an amazing £1640.00 (after admin fees £1570.10) for our School. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We hope those blisters are healing nicely.....

Wish Lists

Fundraising is a vital part of building up our resources in school.  These are essential tools for the classroom and playground and encourage the children to play, engage and learn to take turns.  As we are limited to what we can do for fundraising we have decided to create wish lists on Amazon.  Parents can view the items we would like as a school and then purchase them for us.  Amazon will then automatically send the items directly to the school.

We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our parents/carers and the children with all the books, resources and games we have received.  Thank you to everyone that has donated.  Please only donate if you are able to.

Our first deliveries from our Wish Lists

Our first delivery from Amazon had arrived on Monday.  The items received are shown in the picture on the left.  The picture on the right is of the rest of the deliveries that have come through all this week.  We have been completely overwhelmed by your generosity and want to thank those who have donated.  If you would still like to make a donation please visit the links above.

Thank you for the new books and book corners

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising in Terms 1 and 2. We raised money for new books and book corners and we are excited to say they have started to arrive. Here is what your donations brought.

Christmas Shopping Evening

Ethelbert Road Primary school held their Christmas Shopping Evening on Wednesday 21.11.2019 and it was a huge success. We would like to thank Laura Port for organising this amazing event and giving up her time to support the school's fundraising. We would also like to thank the stall holders, visitors, staff and parents for supporting this event.

Donation of laptops and monitors

We would like to say a big thank you to RHL Recruitment, a technical recruitment consultancy in Ashford, for the donation of laptops and monitors. These laptops and monitors will be used to support our children's learning and replace some very old and broken ones we have.
