Fundraising and The Friends of Ethelbert Road

Ethelbert Road is committed to raising funds to improve the experiences of our children. With the support from 'The Friends of Ethelbert Road' we are able to raise funds and purchase equipment, enrichment activities, or 'little extras' for the children.

Fundraising Aims

In 2021 - 2022 we had raised enough money to purchase 35 new laptops to enhance our ICT lessons, resourced a wonderful music trolley to enhance our music lessons, purchased Christmas, Easter and Summer treats for the children, supported enrichment activities, provided Year Books and medals for our Year 6 leavers, gave our children a gift in order to remember the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and purchased play equipment for the playground.

In 2022 - 2025 we are aiming to:

  • Purchase blinds for the hall
  • Purchase 30 new IPads
  • Continue to provide Christmas, Easter and Summer treats for the children, as well as a little gift to celebrate the Kings Coronation
  • Support enrichment activities and events
  • Continue to provide a Leavers Book and Medals to our Year 6
  • Purchase new markings, benches and larger play equipment for our playground

For more information about our fundraising please see our Fundraising Newsletters below.

Autumn Disco

Thank you to the staff and parent volunteers who helped with organising our autumn disco and decorating the hall. The children had so much fun and there were some fantastic costumes from children and staff and some even better dance moves!

Our disco raised £448.35 for the school.

Your School Lottery

We are excited to announce that we have signed up to Your School Lottery and our page is now LIVE!

Your School Lottery creates and runs lotteries for schools across the UK to raise money through local communities to improve educational facilities and the school environment for thousands of pupils.

Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 per week with 40p going back to our school, 36p towards the prize fund and 24p in admin fees. There is a guaranteed cash winner for our school every week and the chance to win a £25,000 jackpot.

The draw takes place every Saturday, and winners will be notified by email. Match all 6 numbers to win the JACKPOT!

It's a fantastic way to bring Parents, Carers, Teachers and the wider community together, in partnership with our school, and at the same time give something back. We hope to raise funds that can support and enrich the education of our children - we aim to provide extra resources for the children, improve the school environment as well as run extracurricular activities such as music, art and sport.

Your support is greatly appreciated and we wish you good luck!

100 Miles for Ethelbert Road

Four Ethelbert Road Dads walked 100 miles over 3 days in July across London to raise money for our school.

They began at the Thames Barrier, walked along the River Thames and ended in Reading completing an average of 9 hours per day!

Our Dads raised an amazing £1640.00 (after admin fees £1570.10) for our School. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We hope those blisters are healing nicely.....

Fundraising

Our fundraising group is an important part of Ethelbert Road Primary School and our local community. They help to raise essential funds and organise and run events for all of the children in our school. School events such as, Film Nights, Christmas and Summer Fayres, The Children's Christmas Shop, Dinner and Dance, workshops and whole school visitors would not be possible without the support of our Fundraising Group members.

We are determined to raise £20,000 over the next two years for our playground project. We are aiming to resurface the playground and Reception area and have new markings laid. Here are some of the ways we aim to raise the funds:

  • ERPS Go Fund Me Page
  • Easyfundraising App
  • Children’s Film Nights
  • Christmas, Easter and Summer Fairs
  • Christmas events
  • Adults Dinner and Dance
  • Raffles
  • Sponsored events
  • Spare Change Challenge
  • Cake Sale
  • Adult Race Night
  • Adult Quiz Night
  • School Lottery
  • My Name Tags

If you have any ideas on how we can raise money, or know any company that may be able to help us, please do not hesitate to email the office team. Thank you to everyone who has made donations and given up their time to support our events so far.

    Wish Lists

Fundraising is a vital part of building up our resources in school.  These are essential tools for the classroom and playground and encourage the children to play, engage and learn to take turns.  As we are limited to what we can do for fundraising we have decided to create wish lists on Amazon.  Parents can view the items we would like as a school and then purchase them for us.  Amazon will then automatically send the items directly to the school. The links below are for our latest two lists.  One is for playground resources and the other is for classroom resources:

We also have a list for Books for the classrooms, which relate to the topics the children will study:

We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our parents/carers and the children with all the books, resources and games we have received.  Thank you to everyone that has donated.  Please only donate if you are able to.

Our first deliveries from our Wish Lists

Our first delivery from Amazon had arrived on Monday.  The items received are shown in the picture on the left.  The picture on the right is of the rest of the deliveries that have come through all this week.  We have been completely overwhelmed by your generosity and want to thank those who have donated.  If you would still like to make a donation please visit the links above.

Thank you for the new books and book corners

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising in Terms 1 and 2. We raised money for new books and book corners and we are excited to say they have started to arrive. Here is what your donations brought.

    Donation of laptops and monitors

We would like to say a big thank you to RHL Recruitment, a technical recruitment consultancy in Ashford, for the donation of laptops and monitors. These laptops and monitors will be used to support our children's learning and replace some very old and broken ones we have.
