Music: Song of the Day!

As today is Harry Potter day, what else could our song of the day be but Hedwig's theme from the movies. Have a listen below. What genre do you think this piece of music belongs to?

BBC's Proms Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter

Did you know Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter was composed (created/made) by a man named John Williams? Now, you probably haven't heard of John Williams but I am so certain that you will know lots of the pieces of music he has created as he has composed some of the most popular, most recognisable and most critically acclaimed film scores in cinematic history. And it just so happens that John Williams is from the United States of America - he was born in Queens, a borough of New York City, in 1932 and moved to Los Angeles to kickstart his career in Hollywood. Listen to some of his most famous tracks below. I have a feeling that you might have heard most (if not all) of them before!

John Williams: Theme from Jaws

John Williams - Star Wars Theme (Live, 1984)

John Williams conducts Jurassic Park

Williams: Indiana Jones / Sir Simon Rattle

The Flying theme (E.T)
