The Equator / The Globe

Last week, we learnt about continents, oceans and where some of the world's deserts are located.  This week, we are going to think about where in the world the hot deserts are located in relation to the equator. Deserts are located near the equator, but not directly on it.  There is a PPT below which will explain a bit more about the equator. Can you find out:

  • What the equator is
  • Where the equator is
  • Where the North and South poles are located

It might be useful if you have a globe to look at.  There is no need to write or draw anything down, but if you want to, you could have a go a making a papier-mache globe and showing the equator line on it! That would be a cool project!
