Please note that today's English lesson is on the this page!

Today’s Learning Focus:

I can recite some poems and rhymes by heart.

Today's Task:

I would like you to spend today’s lesson learning a short poem or a rhyme, off by heart!

Learning a poem off by heart is an important skill that will help strengthen your brain! It improves your memory and your focus and your ability to express yourself. Watch the following video to find out about how to perform poetry.

I have put together some dinosaur poems on a Powerpoint Presentation, that you can read through with your grown-up and choose your favourite to learn.

I am happy for you to choose your own poem from an anthology that you have at home, or one of the short rhymes that I included for Wednesday’s English work. You could choose an animal poem that links with our science unit or a dinosaur poem that links with our topic.

Go for it and have fun!

Here is a video of Michael sharing his top tips on how to recite a poem.
