WRAPAROUND CARE (Breakfast club and After School Care)

Ethelbert Road Primary School, breakfast and after school care currently provides wraparound care provision for all children attending the school (if spaces available and up to 30 children per session).

These operate daily providing continuous care within the school setting from 7.55am to 5.30pm.

Both clubs are becoming increasingly popular, so In order to ensure that we have sufficient staff we do need to know in advance which days the children will be attending. Regular places must be booked in advance and by Thursday 3pm, for the following week. Additional and ad-hoc sessions may be booked, dependent on availability. 24 hours’ notice will be required. This is so that we can ensure we have the appropriate adult to child ratios whilst giving our staff plenty of notice.

Breakfast Club is open from 7.55am every morning, with breakfast is served until 8.30am. After School Club is open from 3.15pm until 5.30pm Monday - Friday. Please note that staff are only present until 5:30pm, so if you are running late please could you telephone the After School Club (the main office closes at 4pm) or arrange for someone else to collect.

Activities

In addition to providing childcare the club offers an excellent opportunity for the children to engage and socialise with their peers. During the time spent at the club children can choose from a variety of planned activities including messy play, creative activities, free and structured play within the indoor and outdoor environment.

Some staff work in both breakfast club and after school care enabling continuity of care.

Meal Times

Meal times are an important time for children to socialise. Children at Breakfast Club are offered a choice of cereal, toast, fruit or yoghurt.

At after school care, the children are provided with fruit, drinks and a light snack.

All food conforms to school food guidelines. All allergies/intolerances should be notified to staff via the school office.

Times and Costs

Fees – Breakfast Club = £3.00 per session per child

Fees – After-school Club =£5.00 per session per child up to 4.30pm and £9.00 per session per child up to 5.30pm.

If your child attends a school paid club before needing after school care, the cost for this remaining after school care session 4.15pm – 5.30pm will be £5.00.

If they attend a school club that is free, you will need to pay for the whole after school care session up to 5.30pm £9.00.

Fees are payable in advance by either payment directly into the account or by cheque or cash into the school office. We also accept childcare vouchers. If you require more information on how to use childcare vouchers, please speak to someone in the school office.

Fees will be reviewed annually during the Summer Term and parents/carers will be notified of any changes.

Boogle

Children are challenged to write as many words as possible using the nine letters on the board. Every child that takes part will earn themselves 2 house points. We will have a KS1 winner and KS2 winner each week who will earn 5 house points.

Letters are changed every Wednesday.
