Maths

Today, I would like you to spend some time observing the birds around you. This might be in your garden or on a walk with your family or maybe even from your bedroom window if it is raining. What birds can you see? Try to identify some of the birds you can see around you. You could set an amount of time to observe and count the different variations of birds that visit your garden.

Are you collecting continuous or discrete data? What graph or chart would be the best for showing the data you have? What areas of maths would you have to use? Over the week could you collect data at different times of the day to see if there are any differences? Perhaps you could compare the morning to the afternoon or evening? Why don't you send in your data so we can compare different areas too?
