Welcome back Message

Tuesday 5th January

Happy New Year Purple Class! I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and that you have enjoyed a lovely time, playing with your presents, and doing lots of fun things at home. I hope that you have all stayed safe and well and I am looking forward to hearing news from you all.

Thank you again for our wonderful Christmas presents, they were such thoughtful gifts, and we were really touched by your generosity.

We are to start term 3, learning online. I hope that this will only be for a short period of time until it is safe for us to return to school. In the meantime, please refer to the Remote Learning pages on our class web page, to find out about our learning for the first two weeks of term. Our new topic this term will be on Dinosaurs! I know that you will all enjoy this topic.

There will be four planned tasks each day. I have linked our daily Letters & Sounds sessions with some (optional) handwriting practice, as well as an English, Maths, and a Topic task. I have added a suggested timetable for those of you that would like to structure your day.  If possible, I would also like you to allow 10 minutes every day for reading. The Oxford Owl website has free scheme books for your child to read to you at home. Phonic books would be best.

I completely understand that some of you will be juggling work commitments alongside childcare and home learning and that the next two weeks are going to be incredibly difficult. Please just do the best that you can and don’t worry if some tasks are not completed. As always, I am here to help, and if there is anything I can do to support you, please do get in touch with me via the year 1 email address.

To my lovely class, I will be thinking of you all. I am very much looking forward to being back in the classroom with you but in the meantime, keep smiling and take good care of yourselves.

Learning to be emailed to me for Feedback

Please email me one piece of learning which you have completed this week and that you are especially proud of.  How about a photograph of some of your sentences about dinosaurs or the labelling activity that you did on Wednesday?

If you could email them by Thursday 7th January (evening) then that gives me Friday to have a look and prepare to give you feedback on your learning.  Thank you.
