  • Digital Leaders

Ethelbert Road Primary School recognises that technology is part of everyday life for many learners, staff and parents/carers. Mobile technology needs to be used safely and appropriately, so we have made available some resources you may find useful.

Online safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Ethelbert Road Primary School, therefore Online Safety is taught to all pupils. Our curriculum empowers children to understand and be aware how they can to stay safe and behave appropriately online, but we can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with you.

The School's Designated Safeguarding Leads Lisa Vitiello, Claire Cornall, Sally Rix and Michele Kirkbride (the main safeguarding lead) are available to discuss any help you may need or concerns regarding online safety that you may have.

Miss Constantine is the Computing Leader and will oversee the curriculum.

    DDC Digital Detective Crew

Our DDC are central to Computing and Online Safety provision at Ethelbert Road. We are skilled, confident technological learners who are able to support children and staff alike, in a range of ways.

We work together with our collaboration schools (Hernhill Primary, Ospringe Primary, Davington Primary and Boughton Under Blean Primary) on an annual basis, ensuring that we receive up-to-date training and knowledge which we can then share with our peers.

We meet to plan events and learning, discuss issues around online safety and maintain the school’s hard wear, including our laptops and iPads.

Our priorities are to further enhance the profile of online safety at Ethelbert Road and to plan and organise Safer Internet Day, as well as focusing on their every day job of supporting and modelling exceptional Computing practice!

Our current and future Digital Leaders got the chance to visit the Apple Store in Bluewater today for a workshop. They became digital music producers creating their own theme songs using GarageBand, experimenting with different instruments, recording loops and using pre-recorded samples. They had the best time!

Congratulations to our DDC (Digital Detective Crew) who held an amazing assembly today. They shared a strong message of how to stay safe on line through their assembly and short film. Well done everyone, you were fab!

Our new Digital Leaders team are called 'The DDC' (The Digital Detective Crew). They enjoyed joining other Faversham schools this afternoon to learn about on line safety and to make plans on how to support the school to be safe on line. Well done to the DDC, we look forward to seeing all your plans.
