Kent Cricket’s Schools Big Day Out

Some of our Year 5 and 6 children were invited to attend Kent Cricket's Big Schools Day Out at the Kent County Cricket ground in Canterbury today.

After arriving in a storm, the rain quickly passed and the children were lucky enough to be able to watch Day 2 of Kent Vs Surrey in the county championship. The children also tookpart in a variety of activities, which included an assault course and a rapid fire cricket game. They experience how visually impaired children and adults can participate in cricket and how it is an inclusive sport, as well as having the opportunity to test how fast they could throw a ball.

During the course of the day the children collected rubbish, which was weighed before we left. Our children collected 19kg of rubbish throughout the day, the highest amount collected by all of the schools. The behaviour of our children was excellent and we hope they enjoyed the day. A big thank you to Mr Mullender and Mrs Bell for making this trip possible.
