LO: I can draw a mind map of facts and language to describe the halls of Valhalla.

Next week, I will be asking you to write a saga about a Viking warrior who desires to reach the halls of Valhalla. Vikings were given courage in battle by their belief in a glorious afterlife. They believed that brave warriors who died in battle would be sent to the halls of Valhalla where they would feast with the gods.

Our starting point for this writing challenge is to find out about Valhalla! I have attached several links, below, for you to read/watch in order to learn more about this mythical place. As you explore the texts and videos, create your own mind map of facts and language about Valhalla. Try to include words which you think might describe this place from the point of view of a Viking warrior.  This will be very useful when you come to write next week! Feel free to add small illustrations, colour or symbols to your mind map.

I have included a link to the Power Maths Textbook so you can access the discovery task and the share section. I have also allocated any teaching resources that you might need. The White Rose video explains the concepts to be able to do this maths. You do not have to print off the question PDF you can just write down answers on a piece of paper if you like. If you need any more help please, email me:
