This Week's Learning

Week beginning Monday 23rd March

Good morning Red Class! I hope you have had a lovely weekend - even if you have been indoors more than usual! There are lots of activities available for you to complete this week. Please don't worry if you can't get through it all - just try and do as much as you can. If you're finding the work a little too tricky to complete independently and Mummy or Daddy or another guardian is working at home, please read your book, go onto TTRockstars/Numbots/Code.org or move on to another activity until you can get some help with your work. Please don't forget, I am still here, I am still your teacher and my priority is you guys and your learning. If you wish to get in touch or share anything with me, ask your parents to email me at office@ethelbert-road.kent.sch.uk and put Miss Constantine as the subject (so the office can send it across to me easily).

Missing you already! Lots of love, Miss Constantine xx

Friday 20th March

Maths - We worked to finish off our Area unit by continuing to count squares and thinking of techniques to avoid counting every square. We then tried to draw shapes with a given area.

Topic - We started to think about the different features that make up a river. We had a class discussion about our understanding of rivers before moving on to use a variety of resources to label a river. We looked at the Rivers text from Monday first, and used an iPad to research the other features. We create our own glossaries to define the terms alongside our labelled pictures.

Thursday 19th March 2020

EMW - TTRockstars

We then trialled a new computer coding online course called Code.org - more information to follow.

Maths - Counting squares to find area

PE - Fitness

Wednesday 18th March

English - Rivers comprehension

Maths - What is area?

Geography - We will locate major rivers from around the world using an atlas (or any appropriate source!)

Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th March

English - We focused on the use of plural nouns, and singular and plural possessive nouns.

Maths - We looked at calculating the perimeter of rectilinear shapes, where not all side lengths are given.

Science - We thought more about the use of switches and how switches actually work.
