Hello Shakespeare Club It has been far too long since we have been in contact. Sadly due to lockdown we were unable to complete our first challenge. However, all is not lost; I have come up with a cunning plan to help us continue learning about Shakespeare and his plays and sonnets. We have been given the second challenge by the Marlowe Theatre and I am determined to put a film together to submit to the Marlowe. Below you will find the challenge.
I would love it if you could think about all the ways we have learnt about presenting Shakespeare lines. E.g. making a visual image using your hands for some of the words that stand out to you, repeating words that stand out the most, or repeating the last word of the line above before starting the next line, using your body to create interesting shapes to illustrate the lines of the poem.
Please would you record yourselves reciting the poem. You could film in your garden or maybe the woods? Or whilst you paint a picture at home. The poem is about spring so maybe include some of the first daffodils in your film. It's up to you!
If you would prefer not to be in the film you could recite the lines whilst filming some beautiful scenes. If you play an instrument, you could include some music!
If you will be using a mobile phone to make your film, please make sure you record in landscape rather than portrait.
We will edit all your films together to create one film to submit to the Marlowe Theatre.
I am very much looking forward to receiving your films. If you need to send more than one film to complete the poem, that is fine. Or if you would just prefer to recite a small part of the poem that is fine too.
