Outdoor Learning
Create a Bird Feeder!
The birds will come flocking to your garden!
Go on a Twig Hunt!
How well do you know your trees? Use this twig identification tool to help you to identify your local trees! Draw a picture of some of the trees you are able to identify. What else can you find out about those threes?
Visit a local Nature Reserve
Did you know that we are fortunate to have many areas around Faversham where wildlife thrives? Why not pay a visit and investigate the wildlife there? Here are some suggestions:
- Take a walk along Stonebridge Way to see our local Kingfisher. If you're lucky, you might see him plunging into the stream as Mrs Edwards did when she last went! Investigate the Kingfisher. Draw a picture of a Kingfisher and and write a short information text about this beautiful bird. Why do you think he came to our local stream?
- Visit Oare Gunpowder Works
What's happening there at this time of the year? What can you see, hear? Report back to us!
- Visit Oare Marshes. Which birds can you spot? Have they migrated here from other countries? Where? Do an investigation or study of the birds you find there. Don't forget to send us your findings! And don't forget to take a pair of binoculars, if you have them!
