Outdoor Learning Project
This week, we would like you to take your learning focus outdoors! Below, you will find a number of suggestions and project ideas. You may decide to choose one idea and work on this over the next three days, or you may decide to work on a different idea each day. The choice is yours! I will upload different ideas for WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY and FRIDAY so have a look at the ideas for each day before you decide which one/ones to tackle. Send me your learning when you have completed the task. Enjoy!
Outdoor Learning Suggestions:
- CREATE A GARDEN JOURNAL.Spend thirty minutes each day in your garden. What do you notice during that time? Which birds fly over? Do you see any insects or other wildlife? Are there any plants in flower? Which ones? Is there any sign of growth? What's the temperature? What's the weather like each day? Keep a LOG of all your observations then write up your findings with illustrations.
- Complete this WILDLIFE HUNT. Which of these creatures can you find in your garden?
- BIRD INVESTIGATION. Find out which birds frequent your garden. Can you take any photos of those birds? Draw a picture of one particular bird and find out more about that bird. You could draw a scientific diagram of the bird, labelling all distinctive parts.
You could take part in the BBC's Big Garden Bird Watch! Find out more by clicking the links below!
