Sports Day
Wednesday 7 July we will be doing Sports Day. We have had a go at all of the events and have been working hard on our relay and sprints in our PE lessons. We will have so much fun and look forward to telling you how we all got on!
Monday 14 December afternoon is our class cinema treat. We will watch a Christmas film altogether in our classroom - how exciting!
Tuesday 15 December is our Christmas dinner and party day. Everyone can come to school in a Christmas jumper if they wish to do so. After we have had Christmas dinner together we will play party games all afternoon.
Friday 18 December is the last day of term. We will be giving out all Christmas cards posted in our class post box on this day.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS from the Class R team. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday and look forward to seeing you all in the new year. xxx
PE
We are excited to be starting PE every Wednesday from Wednesday 4 November.
Children can come to school dressed in their PE kits for the day. As the weather is getting colder the children can wear jogging bottoms or leggings with either an Ethelbert PE hoody or an Ethelbert jumper. Trainers or plimsolls will be fine. Any problems please catch one of us on the gate for a socially distanced chat or send us an email.
Harvest
On Tuesday 20 October we will be having our Harvest Festival in school. We are doing Dingle Dangle Scarecrow so please send your child to school dressed as a scarecrow. They can stay in these clothes all day. We suggest jeans/trousers/leggings and a checked shirt or a T shirt. Flippy floppy hats are optional but would be good if you have one! Please do not go out and buy one though. We do kindly ask for no straw as it makes a mess everywhere. Please consider your child`s clothes so that they can still manage the toilet during the day. We will be dancing and singing around our lovely class scarecrow made last week. You can see our scarecrow on our gallery page.
Last Week of Term 1
We can not believe your children have nearly completed a whole term of school! It has flown by and we have had a wonderful time getting to know them all. We have been focusing on sharing and taking turns as being one of thirty is a tricky thing, and having to wait is an important aspect of being in a classroom. We have been absolutely delighted with the politeness of this class and how helpful they are to each other.
We wish you all a wonderful half term holiday and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 2 November for our new topic Celebrations and Festivals.
21/9/20 First Day of School
Today was your child`s first day at school and we hope that they enjoyed their first session in school. We had a wonderful time with them and were delighted how happily every single child came into the classroom with a smile. They all shared the resources and were kind and helpful to each other. Here are some of the things your child learnt in Orange class today...
- where to put their water bottles
- how to post their names
- where to wash their hands
- where their coat peg is
- what to do when the teacher shakes the bells
- how to tidy up the mud kitchen and the dressing up
- how to sit on the mat and listen to a story about starting school
- how to play Mr Bear, Mr Bear your honey`s not there
- how to join in with "oh what a fuss when the king rides by"
