Update on James` fundraiser 2/5/20

James has completed his Readathon challenge. He's raised a phenomenal... £600! He read 60 books in total, including Mr Cheerful, Owl Babies, The Gruffalo, The Hungry Caterpillar, Hairy Maclary, The Giant Jam Sandwich, Oi Cat, Sofa Dog, Bathroom Boogie and Sam's Sandwich to name but a few! We could not be prouder of James as all of this money goes to Demelza house to help children and their families. Well done James!

James` fundraiser

James is going to be fundraising for Demelza Hospice Care for Children to help support them with their fundraising during this very difficult time.

Over the next week he's going to read as many of his books as he can so friends and family can sponsor him per book, page or word(!).

Please click on the link below and support this worthy cause

Well done James - We are all so proud of you!

CONTACTING YOUR TEACHERS March 2020

Thursday 26 March

James has been busy at home making a rainbow to display in his window. I have attached his lovely rainbow and a link below for others to try this at home. How lovely would it be for lots of houses to have rainbows in their windows! Well done James - keep up the good work!

Poetry recital

We are encouraging all of the children to recite poems out loud and are therefore having a whole school poetry recital. We will be reciting our poems in class this week and a class winner will be chosen! This winner will go into the final where the winners from each class will recite their poem to the school in Assembly.

Please help your child to learn one of the poems that were sent home on Friday. It would be brilliant if they could learn it by heart and read it with enthusiasm and expression. If your child has a favourite poem that they would prefer to recite, this is of course fine!

Thank you for your support with this. Poetry recitals can really help build children’s confidence.

Gymnastics Competition

This week is our gymnastic competition, where the entire school will be taking part in the competition. Our PE lessons have been focussing on a jump, a roll and a balance so each child will do a jump, a roll and a balance for the competition. This is a very informal competition and will be done as part of our daily lessons. Good Luck everyone!

World Book Day - Tomorrow Thursday 5th March is World Book Day and your child is invited to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character. We can't wait to see their costumes!

24th February 2020

We have changed the class groups today. The four groups are now called Aeroplanes, Boats, Cars and Trains. Please see the letter in your child's book bag to see which day they will now read with the class teachers.
