Term 5 - Pets
We are really enjoying this term's topic. Here are some photos of some new displays in our classroom and outdoor area:
We have also created a mini beast area in our playground:
We had so much fun today and Santa brought us all a chocolate lolly!
We made clay diva lamps and we had a brilliant drama workshop with Mrs West. We acted out the story of Rama and Sita.
We placed our finger printed poppies onto the whole school picture that is displayed in our school garden.
We have been reading big picture books in class and retelling the story. We are learning to use story language.
After reading a story about a cat stuck in a tree, we noticed a toy cat was stuck on the roof of the playhouse. We had to work together to find something long enough to rescue the cat.
Thank you to Lyra`s parents for donating these lovely Autumnal activities. We had to follow an outline with coloured stickers. We really enjoyed it.
This week we have enjoyed making rockets with numbers ordered from 1-10. We have displayed them in our fire station role play area.
We tapped golf tees into pumpkins using real hammers. We then used pliers to pull them out. Some children made their own pumpkin faces.
Term 2`s role play is a Fire Station for the children to become imaginative and explore roles.
We had an amazing workshop with Mrs West. We did drama and pretended we were Sarah, Percy and Bill in the Owl Babies story. We even made a massive nest together.
We used thick and thin paintbrushes and explored colour.
We came to school dressed in something yellow to raise money for charity.
After reading the book it`s ok to be different and embracing our differences, we looked closely at our faces in mirrors and painted ourselves. This display is in the school hall.
Look at our amazing scarecrow we made for harvest next week. We worked as a team to stuff him and decorate his face. We showed him our Dingle Dangle Scarecrow dance.
Our first two weeks in school
We have had a fantastic start to coming into school over the last two weeks. Here are some photographs of the activities the children have taken part in:
