Reading
Over the holidays, we would love it if you could try to take part in The Silly Squad’s Summer Reading Challenge. The aim of the challenge is to make you smile, giggle or have uncontrollable belly laughs - which I doubt will be tricky for some of you chuckle monsters!
Writing
I will really miss you all over the summer so I would love to hear from you. If you’d like, you could send me a postcard to school! I will be popping in in the holidays and it would be lovely to hear about what you have been up to, perhaps you might be planning a family day out or even going on a trip away. I look forward to hearing from you!
CHALLENGE TIME
I have some writing challenges for you to complete over the summer - you could pick one, or do all 3!
- Write a review of a new book you have read for the first time, a TV show or movie, or a sports match you have watched.
- Write a fictional short story. (What genre will it be? Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Mystery, Horror, Romance...)
- Write your own personal diary entry (non-fiction) about the events of your day.
Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar
Below, I have uploaded the statutory spelling list for Year 3 and 4. This is the list of words that the government sets that children should know by the end of Year 4. Please have a look through this list and perhaps test yourself with some of the trickier words. (Write Words children - you could do this with your list, but it would be good for you to have a look at this list too and see which words you can spell and which ones you might wish to practise for Year 5 Write Words!)
